12-year-old boy full of joy after successful surgery to correct his backward legs (Details, pics)

A 12-year-old boy has been given another reason to smile for ever after undergoing a life changing surgery to correct his deformed legs.

The surgery which was done by medical experts abroad was indeed successful as the boy, Ulrich is recuperating fast in the hospital.

It was reported that Ulrich received a free surgery on popular health volunteers Mercy Ships (#AfricaMercy). His legs are now straight again.

On Sunday, November 19, Mercy Ships took to their Facebook handle to share pictures of the boy with the caption: “Straight legs mean a new start in life for 12-year-old Ulrich, who has now received free surgery on the #AfricaMercy to correct his backward facing legs: Before, people would just stare at me in the street and label me a handicap. Now they will look again! #globalsurgery.”

On their Instagram handle Mercy Ships posted another picture of Ulrich with the caption: "Just look at that smile! Being able to reach down and touch your toes is an achievement for some but Ulrich is excited that for the first time in his life, he can’t! One leg down and one to go, but more than half way through the transformation that we’ll see in this young boy’s life thanks to our skilled volunteer surgeons and their amazing work. #transformationtuesday."⠀
