Pregnant Coleen Rooney shares refreshingly honest post about forgiving husband Wayne Rooney's infidelity (Details, pics)

Coleen Rooney has finally broken her silence on her rumoured split from husband Wayne Rooney. The 31-year-old star shared a refreshingly honest Facebook post on Friday morning, revealing that she is giving her nine-year marriage a second chance after the Everton star's 'silly and selfish mistake'.

The mother-of-three - who is currently expecting her fourth child with childhood sweetheart Wayne - also explained why she hasn't been wearing her wedding band, before stepping out in Manchester in a defiant display with her ring firmly on.

The couple have been plagued with reports their marriage is on the rocks following the footballer's wild night out in September - which saw him arrested for drink driving while behind the wheel of party girl Laura Simpson's car.

And just after posting her statement online, Coleen put in an appearance at the Julie Perry Events Ladies Fashion Lunch in Manchester - with her ring firmly on. Dressed in a simple yet sophisticated ensemble, the defiant WAG ensured onlookers got a glimpse of her glittering band.

Coleen's message reads: Before all the stories begin, Yes, I have put my wedding ring on....... A lot of people will be saying "you don't have to explain yourself, don't feel like you have to do this" etc, I know I don't, but I am and I want to.

'It didn't feel right wearing my ring, I see it as a sign of commitment and I was unsure what was happening. I don't always wear my ring day to day, especially when I go the gym.

She continued: 'A few people are probably thinking am stupid for staying in my marriage. I am not stupid, I know my own mind and it's something I want to try and work on. Insisting she is a 'strong person' and doesn't need people to feel sorry for her, Coleen set the record straight once and for all about her marriage.

'Before the headlines start.... No, I’m not taking Wayne back as he's never left. 'Yes, it has been a s**t time, and yes, time was spent apart and I thought my marriage might have been at an end.

'He's made silly and selfish mistakes, some he's learnt from, some obviously not. However maybe that will change? In life, you don't know what's going to happen tomorrow.'

'I’m not going to list Wayne's good qualities as a person as I don't think he deserves it at this time but one thing is that he is a brilliant dad.

Referencing the night of Wayne's arrest for drink driving, Coleen appeared to blame the influence of alcohol for his behaviour.

COLEEN'S STATEMENT IN FULL:

It didn't feel right wearing my ring, I see it as a sign of commitment and I was unsure what was happening. I don't always wear my ring day to day... So, if I don't always have it on, maybe it's just because am going the gym or haven't put it on before the school run!

A few people have been feeling sorry for me, please don't. I appreciate getting cared about, however, I am a strong person, I don't feel sorry for myself. Also a few people are probably thinking am stupid for staying in my marriage. I am not stupid, I know my own mind and it's something I want to try and work on.

In life, you don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. But one thing I do know is that too much alcohol on a night out is a dangerous and a lot of stupid mistakes are made and things are said under the influence. I would never trust ANYONE who has had a lot of alcohol, it changes some people drastically.

I do have a private life and we are real people which is sometimes overlooked. We do have worries, troubles and obstacles in life we tackle and go through without anyone knowing and we also have fantastic fun times making memories with our loved ones without people knowing. To answer a lot of people, not everything in our life is money related. People think when you earn a lot of money everything is fine, yes there are advantages, but this isn't everything in life and it's doesn't always make people happy. People are everything, and people are what make me the happiest in life. We surround ourselves with friends and family who are genuine, kind and caring people.

It's my decision .... do I love Wayne ... yes I do. If I didn't then I wouldn't be trying to make it work. I know I would be fine on my own, with just me and my children, but I don't want to live like that, I want to try and continue our marriage and live as a family, because that’s what I want to do. I’m not saying everything is fine and forgotten about, but we are as good as can be at this point, I’m not the type of person to put a show on and say we’re all loved-up…. I’m just real.

Coleen also hit back at fan speculation she was staying with Wayne for his money, insisting that love and family is what is keeping them together.

She penned: 'It's my decision .... do I love Wayne ... yes I do. If I didn't then I wouldn't be trying to make it work. Coleen's emotional Facebook post was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from her fans, who wished her luck and praised her for her 'brave' decision.

Her decision to speak out comes just after she was pictured leaving her local gym, with her wedding band noticeably absent from her ring finger.

Wayne and Coleen - who are expected to welcome their fourth child in early 2018 - have been together since they were both 16 and tied the knot in 2008.
