Tennessee doctor become the internet sensation after delivering a baby girl on Halloween night while dressed as THE JOKER (Details, pics)

The idea of having your baby delivered by a man dressed up as Heath Ledger's The Joker would likely not be the ideal situation for most parents.

But not for Brittany and Joseph Selph. After their doctor Paul Locus, an obstetrician at the Henry County Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, offered to remove his outfit when they arrived to deliver their baby, they told him to keep it on.

In fact, the pair were over the moon that The Joker could be the first face their daughter, Oaklyn, would ever see.

Speaking to People, Joseph explained how Brittany's due date had actually been November 5th, but she woke up on Halloween morning to find her water had broken. When they arrived at the hospital and saw Dr. Paul in his full make-up, they were totally on board. 'We found it very humorous and a little excited that we would have a baby delivered by The Joker,' said Joseph.

While the couple waited for Brittany to be ready to deliver, Dr. Paul went home to deliver candy before returning ready to get the show on the road. At one point during the day, Joseph even live-streamed Dr. Paul calmly going through the motions pre-delivery with not one staff member in the room seeming in the least riled by Dr Paul's make-up.

One of Joseph and Brittany's other children, a little girl dressed up as a pink power ranger, was initially a little nervous, however, looking over at him with some suspicion. 'I know it's scary,' the doctor said to her. When the delivery finally got underway, proud dad Joseph took all sorts of pictures along the way, many of which turned out unsettling to say the least.

'There my wife is, staring the Joker straight in the eyes while delivering our baby, what a sight!' he said.' I was holding her leg up, and snapping pictures! I was going to go Facebook Live, but the nurse cut me off!'

Oaklyn Saige Selph finally arrived at 8:20pm Halloween night. She is the couple's third child.

Dr. Paul appeared to enjoy the experience just as much as the growing family, posing for pictures with them afterwards.
