An Islamic scholar is getting praise online because of his tweets and other messages regarding the conduct of Muslims and the true meaning of Islam.

Sheikh Azhar Nasser‏ recently took to his Twitter account to share his thoughts on Islam and how he is glad he was introduced to the religion before he met some Muslims who are intolerant, humorless and ignorant.

He also said sending gifts to Christians and Jews on their special holidays is not Haram (any act that is forbidden by Allah).

Sheikh Azhar Nasser is a Muslim American scholar and community activist. He was born and raised in Michigan and has a degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Michigan.
