Romelu Lukaku stars as Manchester United defeat West Brom at Hawthorns (Details, pics)

Two wins in a row is gradually taking the pains of a derby home defeat for Manchester United.

The Old Trafford outfit defeated West Brom 2 - 1 at the Hawthrons stadium to go back to eleven points behind League leaders Manchester City as the race to the title hits up.It was the visitors that got the lead in the 27th minute as Marcus Rashford sent a long raking pass onto the head of Romelu Lukaku, who made no mistake from close in and sent the ball into the top right corner.

United doubled their lead in the 35th minute as Juan Manuel Mata played a short, square pass into the path of Jesse Lingard, who bent a shot straight into the middle of the goal to make it two goals to nothing.

At the end of the first 45 minutes it was Jose Mourinho's men who head to the tunnel the happier side of the two.

West Brom caused a scare in the game in the 77th minute as Gareth Barry who was in the right place at the right time got a rebound inside the box and gleefully rifles the ball low inside the right post.
