Former Abia governor reacts to Benue, Taraba attacks; reveals real sponsorer of killer herdsmen (Details, pics)

Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia state, has disclosed that prominent Nigerians who are against the anti-corruption war of the federal government, are the major sponsors of the killer herdsmen, Daily Trust reports.

Kalu made his comments at his country home, Igbere, during the launch of free interest loans to Abians in Abia-north senatorial district, by the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

It was however gathered that the ex-governor, who made his comments following the recent killings by the herdsmen in certain parts of the country, including Benue state, said that the perpetrators of such dastardly acts were mostly returnees from Niger Republic who infiltrated the people and pretended to be Fulani herders.

He also sympathized with the families of the deceased individuals from the Benue and Taraba attacks.

Kalu further disclosed that he was never in good terms with some rich individuals who were busy milking Abia, when he was governor of the southeast state.

The free interest loan scheme is being executed in partnership with the Orji Uzor Kalu foundation.
