On Wednesday she wrote on her site: 'Stretching classes have become really trendy lately. And for good reason.
'Even though it's low energy/impact, stretching is actually one of the most important parts of any exercise regimen. My trainer, Coach Joe, always has me stretch pre- and post-workout. Scroll down to learn more about my routine and the benefits of stretching in general.
'Stretching is key to combat the effects of lactic acid buildup, which can create burning sensations, tightness and discomfort in muscles. Stretching also helps improve circulation and reduce the risk of injury.
'Warm Up - Stretching before a workout is important because it slowly increases your heart rate and blood flow, sending more oxygen to your brain. It also helps promote stability and balance.
