Thibaut Courtois hits out at "Unsupportive" Chelsea fans after 4 straight draws (Details, pics)
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has hit out at the ‘Blues’ fans who booed their side off the pitch following their 0-0 draw with Leicester on Saturday.
The reigning champions were lucky to remain level in the first hour or so and were then unable to break down the ‘Foxes’ following Ben Chilwell’s red card.
Antonio Conte’s side have drawn all four of their games so far in 2018, but Courtois insists that booing doesn’t help anyone.
Speaking to ‘ChelseaTV’, the Belgian said: "I know we as a team didn't have a good game, it was our third goalless draw, but we need the fans here at Stamford Bridge to get behind the team and not, when a player has a bad pass or a bad shot, start booing and whistling. I don't think we're playing a bad season."
Chelsea fans have also grown concerned with their side’s desire to play out from the back, with various criticisms of the approach audible on Saturday, leading Courtois to tell the Stamford Bridge faithful to get behind the club’s style of play.
"It's important that the fans must know that we want to play out from the back,” he explained.
