Children in Nigeria spend too much time in school, how do they learn other skills? - Nigerian lady raises concern (Details, pics)
Did you agree with the fact that education system in Nigeria leaves no room for students to grow in other aspects? A Nigerian woman has raised a topic talking about the state of the Nigerian education system and how it prepares students for real-life situations.
The woman identified as Lolo Cynthia expressed that the Nigerian school system takes too much time from students who are supposed to learn various things to help them cope in the real world.
According to the woman who shared her views on Twitter, schools in Nigeria begin at 8:00am every day and close by 4:00pm and after school students are still expected to work on assignments and do extra lessons.
Cynthia stated that even when students should be resting and playing or learning creative activities during the holidays they are sent to schools for summer lessons. She further stated that school and church has become the only social setting for Nigerian kids.
The young lady stated that students need time to play, develop skills and learn other affairs that would help them in future. She asked how a child would learn anything else if all the time he or she has is spent in school.
