A drug dealer who stuffed £737,000 in cash and £2.5 million of heroine and cocaine into the walls of his £150,000 has been jailed. Daljinder Bassi, 36 was sentenced to 13 years in prison after cash and class A drugs in were found hidden under floorboards, beneath the loft insulation and within wall cavities.

He was caught and arrested by he Met Police Organised Crime Partnership (OCP) and West Midlands Police in October last year as he drove along the M6 with three kilos of heroin in his car.

Bassi used his home in Wolverhampton as a base to cut, package and store large quantities of class A drugs before distributing to dealers in the West Midlands. The cash hidden in the walls was only accessible from the loft using a home-made pulley system, according to the National Crime Agency. Officers seized £737,000 in cash and a further 22kg of heroin, cocaine and mixing agents.

Bassi admitted three counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs at a previous hearing and was jailed at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday.
