Lionel Messi breaks goal jinx against Chelsea as Barcelona hold the Blues at the Stamford Bridge (Details, pics)

Argentine superstar Lionel Messi on Tuesday night, February 20 scored his first goal against Chelsea to help Barcelona record a 1-1 draw against the Blues in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 ties.

Chelsea started the match impressive with superb display from Nigerian international Victor Moses and Frenchman N'Golo Kante. The Blues fans were livid when Brazilian star Willian was denied two times by woodwork in the first half as the first 45 minutes ended goalless.

Chelsea scored their first goal in the 62nd minute when Eden Hazard supplied a superb pass for Willian, and this time around, the Brazilian beat Barcelona goalie Marc Stegan.

But Barcelona came back into the game in the 75th minute when Andres Iniesta provided an assist for Lionel Messi to score. Messi who has never scored against the Blues after eight matches but has now broken the record.

Spanish striker Alvaro Morata came on to replace Pedro Rodriquez, but his wing was clipped by Barcelona defenders and was even given a yellow card.

The match however ended 1-1 with Barcelona taking a vital point to the Camp Nou for the second leg.
