Muammar Gaddafi's long rule triggers widespread violence across Africa - President Buhari (Details, pics)

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the regime of the late Muammar Gaddafi, the former rule of Libya, was the one that produced violent people whose mission is to foment trouble and kill people indiscriminately.

President Buhari stated this while receiving Louise Mushikiwabo, Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs, who came as special envoy of President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, at the State House, Abuja, Tuesday, January 9.

The president revealed in a tweet which reads:

"Gaddafi's long rule produced many people, whose only skill is how to shoot guns. Now, they are scattered around the continent, still with their weapons, & fomenting trouble." — Pres @MBuhari speaking today on Africa's security challenges, while welcoming Rwandan Foreign Minister.

President Buhari, in a report which was released by Vanguard, further added Nigeria had taken it upon herself to bring back 5037 of her citizens who are stranded in Libya.

He said: “Illegal migration is now a major issue in Africa. Many dare the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea to get into Europe, and many die in the process. Or they get into trouble, as we now see in Libya. I don’t envy our position, as many Blacks claim to be Nigerians, even when they are not.
