Jeff Bezos, Amazon owner, is now the richest person in history, according to Bloomberg Billionaire’s Index.

Amazon’s owner net worth reached $105.1 billion on Monday courtesy of a 6.6 percent rise in Amazon.com shares.

Bezos who also owns controlling shares in Blue Origin and the Washington Post, passed Bill Gates in October when his fortune crossed $100 billion.

According to Forbes, Bezos’ net worth is at $104.4 billion.

Bill Gates’ net worth would far exceed $93.8 billion if he had not given to charity, primarily the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

He has given away almost 700 million Microsoft shares and $2.9 billion of cash and other assets since 1996, according to an analysis of his publicly disclosed giving.
